Most Appearances by an Actor in the List:
-Morgan Freeman with 7 appearances in the Top 100, with three in the Top 10.
-Second Place: Robert De Niro with 6 movies
-Third Place: Tie with Harrison Ford (thanks to Indiana Jones/Star Wars) and Jimmy Stewart (thanks to being incredibly awesome) with 5 movies.
-Notables: Brad Pitt, Bruce Willis, Al Pachino, and Jack Nicholson all had 4 movies; Tom Hanks and Christian Bale had 3 appearances; and there were tons of people tied with 2, most notably Denzel Washington, Gregory Peck, and Sean Connery.
- Number of Hayden Christianson or Robert Pattinson: NONE BECAUSE THEY ARE THE WORST ACTORS EVER. Essentially, they are wasting good oxygen and that is four good kidneys that more deserving people are deprived of because these two wastes of space are allowed to keep breathing.
Most Appearances by a Director in the List:
- In a kind of surprising turn of events. There are FOUR directors tied at the top of the list with 4 movies apiece making the Top 100: Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Stanley Kubrick, and Christopher Nolan. This is kind of amazing because I thought that honestly Scorsese or Kubrick would have had way more movies and that one of them would have won it outright. Spielberg makes sense that he would be this high, but also Nolan is my favorite current director in Hollywood as all of his films have been great so far (with the exception of Insomnia which was not poorly done but I just didn't like it).
Second Place: Quentin Tarantino with 3 movies
Third Place: Several tied with 2 movies, most notably Frank Capra and Alfred Hitchcock.
Last Place: Uwe Boll. Do I need to explain this?
Number of Movies by Genre:
Science-Fiction: 17
Action Movies: 11
Comedy: 10
Comic Book Films: 9
My Biggest Regret:
I'm very proud of my list, I am. But I do have to say that there are several films that I still wish had made the list, so I'm just going to list a few that I wished had been on there but when push came to shove they were left off:
Psycho, Gone Baby Gone, Inside Man, Big Fish, Blood Diamond, Hamlet (Branagh's version), American Gangster, No Country for Old Men, North by Northwest, Sixth Sense, Goldfinger, You Only Live Twice, A History of Violence, Heat, Jackie Brown, Stranger Than Fiction, Jerry Maguire, Apollo 13, Three Kings.
But I have to say that there is one film that I really should have put on the list, and even now putting the total list up I wish that I had put it instead of several other movies: American Psycho. I love this movie, and it's the film that put Christian Bale firmly on the map. When I first saw it I said that Bale was the perfect choice to play Bruce Wayne/Batman, and now he is the definitive movie Batman. This movie is so brilliantly dark and twisted, easily one of the most unexpectedly funny films and the scene where he goes completely crazy and visits the ATM is one of my favorite scenes in any movie. I'm now kicking myself even more for leaving this film off the list. Le Sigh...
Well that's it folks. The list is done. Keep an eye out on the blog for more movie related posts in the upcoming weeks, and at the end of the year I'm going to be doing my top 10 best films of 2009 (right now if you want to know what's number one, it's the only movie that came out this year on the Top 100 list [it rhymes with Mistrict Tine]). Until then, take it easy boys and girls.
Adam, who is curently a little drunk, is insisting I let you know that Heat being on your list only as an honerable mention is unacceptable. He is very angry about this and you need to know.
